VEP determines a person's eye-brain response time. When the eyes are exposed to visual stimulations, the optic nerve at the back of the eye relays the message to the visual cortex to process that information in the mind. This takes place at an extremely fast speed, almost immediately. It is so quick, that we at, really feel as though there is no hold-up-- we see something right away.
